Film by students of the Faculty of Art and Design awarded best short documentary

For their documentary film »No Body and the Blue Sky«, Magda Gvelesiani (Visual Communication), Bela Moritz (Visual Communication) and Philiph Waltinger (Media Art and Design) were awarded in the category »Best Short Documentary« at the Kiez Berlin Film Festival.

The short documentary »No Body and the Blue Sky« is a poetic journey along the Bzhuzhi River in Georgia. Following the course of the river, the film takes viewers through six villages in the Guria region. The recipients meet old people as well as young people who have a close relationship to the flowing water. It is striking that the camera is static without exception; the movement of the rippling and rushing river creates the visual dynamics of the images. The documentary shows in a naturalistic and intimate way the relationship of the inhabitants to the river and how daily life revolves around it.
