Recently, members and affiliates of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar have been informed through the media that the University is currently facing challenging circumstances. We hope to put the present financial situation into context with the following short FAQ and to provide transparency and guidance.

Until Monday, 12 May 2026, visitors to Mensa am Park can experience the exhibition »WILD WEAK ELECTRONICS«. Developed in the workshop of the same name at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, the installation combines hand-built circuits and electromechanical elements that react to changing light conditions.

Erfolg für die Fakultät Architektur und Urbanistik der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar: Gleich zwei studentische Teams wurden beim renommierten »wa award 2026«, dem wichtigsten Ideenwettbewerb für den architektonischen Nachwuchs, prämiert. In dem internationalen Teilnehmerfeld mit mehr als 100 Studierenden aus über 30 Hochschulen setzten sich die Arbeiten durch und erhielten einen Preis sowie eine Anerkennung.

Success for the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar’s Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism: Two student teams have already been recognised at the prestigious »wa award 2026«, the most important competition for young architects. With international entries from 100 students from over 30 countries, two projects from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar students secured a prize and an honourable mention.

On Saturday, 30 May 2026, from 9 am to 3 pm, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will provide visitors with a comprehensive insight into its range of courses and answer the following questions: What is the right degree programme for me? How can I finance my studies? What can I expect in Weimar and on campus? These questions and others will be answered by Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and Studierendenwerk Thüringen staff in the foyer of the Mensa am Park at Marienstraße 15 starting at 9 am. Guests will be provided with general and subject-specific information on studying.

From 18 May to 17 June 2026, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will be taking part once again in the international »CITY CYCLING« campaign: All University members are encouraged to cycle as many of their daily journeys as possible and to send the collective message supporting sustainable mobility, active environmental protection, and improved health in everyday life.

Rebekka Ladewig kennt die Fakultät Medien schon: Von 2018 bis 2020 vertrat sie die Professur für Geschichte und Theorie der Kulturtechniken, seit dem 1. Februar 2026 hat sie sie inne. Dazwischen lagen Gastprofessuren in Wien, Offenbach und Karlsruhe, Fellowships und Forschungsaufenthalte in Weimar, Wien und Oxford und ein von der Volkswagenstiftung gefördertes Forschungsprojekt zur Kultur- und Bildgeschichte des Pfeils.

Die Leistungsfähigkeit des Gesamtsystems Eisenbahn wird durch das Zusammenspiel von Infrastruktur, Fahrzeugen, Leit- und Sicherungstechnik, Betrieb und Digitalisierung bestimmt – und durch die Art und Weise, wie diese Domänen aufeinander abgestimmt sind. Im Rahmen der einBlick-Vortragsreihe erläutert Dr. Thorsten Bücker von der quattron GmbH, wie die verschiedenen Ingenieurdisziplinen vereint werden können. Interessierte sind herzlich am 7.
