Beauty Hidden in Everyday Life – Invitation to International »Beauty Unseen« Exhibition
The beauty of quiet stories and invisible connections is often unnoticed in everyday life. Students from BAUHAUS4EU Alliance partner universities, including the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, are working to shed light on these hidden layers. The »BAUHAUS NOVA 2026: Beauty Unseen« exhibition is dedicated to aesthetics and exploring how beauty shapes our shared lives and experiences. The opening event will take place on 12 June in the Oberlichtsaal at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and features discussions with artists.
The quality of a handshake, parallels between pigeons and migrants, and numerous shifts in perspective: The »BAUHAUS NOVA 2026: Beauty Unseen« student exhibition presents digital art in which individuals with different experiences and cultural backgrounds reveal diverse facets of beauty. The art demonstrate how shared experiences can emerge from subjective observations and how new conversations can occur across (national) borders.
A highlight of the exhibition is its international context: It is part of the major New European Bauhaus Festival, which takes place every year in Brussels and is organised by the EU’s New European Bauhaus initiative. An official satellite event, this international project will be held both online and in person at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco, another BAUHAUS4EU partner university.
The vernissage features a discussion with artists and a film screening, which will be held on Friday, 12 June at 6 pm in the Oberlichtsaal (Main Building, 2nd Floor, Room 213).
The exhibition will be open to visitors from 11 to 30 June on the ground floor and first floor of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar’s Main Building. The exhibition is in English and German.

About the Organiser
The BAUHAUS4EU Student Council is a student-run committee made up of students from the BAUHAUS4EU Alliance partner universities. The Council’s main task is to act as an advisory body: It offers the experience and perspectives of students from the nine countries and cultures in the Alliance to help support the BAUHAUS4EU project. The Council has set itself the goal of establishing an organised structure for student representation, fostering international relations among students, and ensuring that students’ perspectives are taken into account in the project’s planning. The Council is also committed to raising awareness of the opportunities offered by the project and encouraging students to take part in its initiatives.
