Invitation to the Matriculation Ceremony on 12 October 2023 at 5 pm
The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar Matriculation Ceremony welcomes new students in the upcoming 2023/2024 winter semester. The start of the new semester marks not only the return of already-enrolled students, but also the beginning of an exciting new phase for many first-year students.
The event kicks off with a welcome speech for the »newbies« by Prof. Peter Benz, President of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, and Dr. Simon Frisch, Vice-President of Student & Academic Affairs. This will be followed by a welcome speech by Mayor of Weimar, Peter Kleine. Afterwards, members of the StuKo (Student Government) will deliver their own speeches to the first-semester students.
Dr. Theres Rohde, Director of the Museums für konkrete Kunst Ingolstadt and alumna of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, will also give a speech to the first-semester students before the University Prizes are awarded by Prof. Peter Benz.
The afternoon programme includes musical performances by »Le Petit F«.
After the official part of the programme in the Audimax concludes, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar invites guests to a reception in the foyer of the University Library starting around 6:15 pm. This event will offer new students the opportunity to network with their professors, university staff and fellow students and to engage in conversations.
Representatives from the media are warmly invited to attend the Matriculation Ceremony.
