DZT summit at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar

Guests from 20 countries visited the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar for three hours from 2 pm until 5 pm to learn more about the birthplace of Bauhaus. On the first afternoon of the multi-day »Incoming and Brand Summit«, visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the history of Bauhaus and the University during Bauhaus walks. Photo tours of the UNESCO World Heritage ensemble were also organised. In the afternoon, the Bauhaus.Atelier provided a central meeting place for guests to speak directly with students as well as staff from the University’s communications department.

The DZT is using the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus in Weimar to launch its global campaign for 2019 with the theme of »100 Years of Bauhaus«. According to DZT CEO Petra Hedorfer, the marketing campaign strives to consolidate Germany’s position as the world’s #1 cultural destination. »The roots, heritage and international influence of the Bauhaus movement can be experienced in Weimar, Dessau and Berlin as well as at countless other sites. It thus constitutes an important element of Germany’s cultural and historical offers as a travel destination,« says Hedorfer.

The Travel Destination Germany – Incoming and Brand Summit continued on Wednesday with a conference in the Weimarhalle. On Thursday, lantern walks were organised to Villa Haar in Weimar; these were accompanied by live reporting on DZT’s social media.
