Die Professur für Sozialwissenschaftliche Stadtforschung der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar lädt am 3. Februar 2026 zur Abschlusspräsentation des Studienprojekts »Umkämpfte Räume: Zwischen rechter Raumnahme und zivilgesellschaftlichem Widerstand in Thüringen« ein, das im Wintersemester 2025/2026 durchgeführt wurde.

This question forms the foundation of the »From Process to Aesthetic: Recontextualizing Modernism in South Asia through Cinema, Print, and Object-Oriented Ontology« (2025–26) research project. Funded by the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar’s research workshop initiative, the project focusses on architecture, media, and material aesthetics and consistently examines modernism from a postcolonial perspective.

On the occasion of the upcoming publication of the comprehensive volume »BOOM! 7 Years of nova space«, the University Gallery of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is hosting a screening evening on Monday, February 2, 2026, under the title »BOOM! Shifts, upheaval and new beginnings in art«. The screening is open to all members of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

On 4 and 5 December 2025, representatives from a number of institutions met in the lounge of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar University Library to discuss the topic of »Antisemitism at the University«. Participants in the event shared their research-based contributions and exchanged ideas. Two book tables exhibited relevant literature; one organised by »RIAS Thüringen« and another by »Gesellschaft für kritische Bildung«.

In den letzten Jahren hat die »Caring City« als Konzept zur Überwindung der vielfältigen Care-Krisen in vielen Städten weltweit Eingang in feministische und städtebauliche Debatten sowie in die Kommunalpolitik gefunden. In einer Studie untersuchten die Autorinnen Sandra Huning, ehemals Vertretungsprofessorin für Stadtplanung an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, sowie Hannah Müller, Kollegiatin im Graduiertenkolleg »Gewohnter Wandel« an der Fakultät Architektur und Urbanistik der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, die Entstehung, Umsetzung und das Potenzial von Caring Cities für eine nachhaltige und sozial gerechte Stadtentwicklungspolitik.
