Das Institut für Europäische Urbanistik (IfEU) lädt im Rahmen der Gesprächsreihe »Europäische Urbanistik« am 27. und 28. Juni zu einem Vortrag und einem Podiumsgespräch ein.

Am 25. Juni 2024 veranstalteten das neudeli der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar und andere Gründungsservices der Hochschulen und Universitäten Jena, Ilmenau und Nordhausen sowie der Internationalen Hochschule IU gemeinsam eine thüringenweite Special Edition des Female Founders Stammtischs. Der Abend hat gezeigt: Business ist weiblich, bunt und darf auch richtig Spaß machen!

Der Haushaltsausschuss des Bundestags erteilte am 26. Juni 2024 grünes Licht für die Errichtung eines »Bundesforschungszentrums für klimaneutrales und ressourceneffizientes Bauen«. Im laufenden Jahr stellt der Bund dafür zunächst 3,6 Millionen Euro bereit. Darüber hinaus sind weitere Mittel in Höhe von 65 Millionen Euro bis 2028 eingeplant. Mit seinem Standort in Weimar wird Thüringen damit eines der beiden Gründungsmitglieder für das neue Institut. Die Beteiligung anderer Länder ist zu späteren Zeitpunkten möglich, berichtet das Thüringer Ministerium für Wirtschaft Wissenschaft und Digitale Gesellschaft (TMWWDG).

On Monday, 17 June 2024, Elfi Handina Murandu was awarded one of three prizes for young book design by the Stiftung Buchkunst for her bachelor's thesis »A Book about Hair«. The publication includes 30 perspectives from Black and biracial individuals, and examines questions of belonging, adapting and representation, among others. The book is a collection of actions and behaviours from various Black realities.

It’s that time of year again: From 11 to 14 July, students and staff from all four of the university’s faculties will be presenting the projects that they have been working on over the last academic year. Campus will be transformed into an exhibition space and a dance floor — a space to meet, exchange ideas, see each other again, or get to know one another for the first time. It’s summary again.

Whether in Instagram or by e-mail – from June to October, students from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar’s Faculties of Media and Civil and Environment Engineering will be offering digital consultations for prospective students. What makes this unique? Any questions related to studying and applying to study will be answered by six Bachelor’s students. This offer is free of charge and aims to make starting a degree programme easier.

A familiar space reimagined: Since mid-June, students have been able to come together in the foyer of the University Library in the new co-working space. The space, which opened on 13 June 2024 as part of the »Night of Writing«, is still somewhat of an insider secret, but is becoming more popular.

Organised by the Climate Alliance, the CITY CYCLING campaign invites local politicians and citizens to get on their bikes for 21 days every year between May and September, setting an example for sustainable mobility and climate protection. The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar joined the City of Weimar-organised event for the third time and was awarded gold for being the most active educational institution. The university also placed fifth overall in kilometres covered out of 85 teams. For each kilometre cycled, one cent goes towards a cycling project in Weimar.

The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is once again celebrating success at the annual ADC Talent Awards. Students from the Faculty of Art and Design impressed with their achievements and were honoured with numerous ADC nails in gold, silver and bronze.

On 14 and 15 June the 19th Concrete Canoe Regatta took place in Brandenburg on the Havel. Over 1,000 students from six countries competed to prove that concrete can float. Never before have so many teams been registered. Participants included: 32 Students from the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Whether competition, construction or design - Weimar impressed across the board with wins in almost all categories.
