The »Cirque du Bauhaus« presents a spectacular combination of digital 360° projection, live orchestra music, theater and performance art, all inside of a virtual circus tent the size of a Planetarium dome. The show contributes to the Bauhaus centenary with works by media design and music students, artists and the sounds of the »Cirque du Bauhaus«-Orchestra, founded especially for this show, with original compostions by Acácio Piedade.
The premiere of the »Cirque du Bauhaus« on May 22nd. coincided with the Opening Night of the 13th. FullDome Festival at the Zeiss-Planetarium Jena, one of the most important gatherings of the international Fulldome world. Creating and producing live immersive music theatre performances has become a tradition with the cooperation of Bauhaus University’s Immersive Media department and the Franz Liszt Music University’s UNESCO-chair for Transcultural Music Studies.
The Summaery presentation will include film- and VR-documentation of students’ fulldome epsisodes for the »Cirque du Bauhaus«, along with parts of the live performances. The narration of the »Cirque du Bauhaus« includes real and virtual figures, visions of past and future, dreams, dances and nightmares of toothache in 360°.
