Project description

The project „Concrete Canoe“ demands ambition, teamwork and creativity! The Bauhaus University Weimar successfully took part in the competitions for the last 25 years. Now we want to venture unknown waters: The so-called “Free Class”, in which we want to take part with an impressive boat in the Concrete Canoe Race 2022 in Brandenburg an der Havel.
Within the scope of the Bauhaus-Module “Concrete Canoe - Creativity Meets Engineering” an 11-headed team came up with 3 concept ideas for a creative, crazy, and interactive boat made of concrete.
The course went through 2 different group phases. The “knowledge phase” started dividing the participants into the expert groups Material, Construction and Design. The phase was concluded with the creation of a scientific poster.
Afterwards, the participants found themselves in concept groups. During this phase, the conceptual drafts were developed and elaborated.
