Welcome to the website of the Junior Professorship of Service Management and Media!
Services have a particular impact on the economy and society . In an increasingly digitalised and networked world, new technologies, sustainability requirements and social expectations are changing the way in which services are staged, provided and experienced. The junior professorship for Service Management and Media at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is dedicated to these developments with the aim of gaining scientifically sound and socially relevant insights.
Transformative service research , an approach that investigates how services can improve the well-being of individuals, organisations and societies , is at the heart of the research and coursework. A particular focus is placed on the role of media and digital technologies that enable new forms of participation, inclusion and collaboration. The aim is to develop a better understanding of how media and services can make a joint contribution to staging social, ecological and economic transformations responsibly. In this context, the influence of artificial intelligence, data-driven business models and interactive media environments on user behaviour, service experience and social engagement will also be examined.
In addition, another focus is on responsible management, which promotes responsible, sustainable and inclusive behaviour in corporate and social contexts. This approach combines management research with ethical and social issues in order to enable media companies to stage media offerings not only efficiently, but also fairly and sustainably.
The coursework is aimed at students of Media Management, Medienkultur (Media Studies and Media Economics) and anyone interested in service management and responsible corporate management.
The junior professorship is part of the Media Management Department at the Faculty of Media at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
