Robotic Tectonics II – Final Critique and Summaery 2025

Robotic Tectonics II – Final Critique and Summaery 2025
As part of the fellowship project “Robotic Tectonics – Robot-based Teaching and Learning Environment for Automated Construction Processes” (Stifterverband / Thuringian Ministry of Economics), which aims to develop an innovative course on robotic construction processes, the second iteration of the course held its final critique today, 4 July 2025, in the D-LAB.

Teams from the Faculty of Art and Design and the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering presented their overarching, robot-assembled prototypes. Each group outlined their design concept, assembly process and challenges, engineering aspects, robotic assembly workflow, and overall process visualisation.

A small gradual loading test of the overarching structures was conducted to assess their structural strength and stability.

The projects will be on view in the D-LAB during Summaery 2025 (10–13 July).
