Bauhaus Colloquium for Emerging Researchers 2026 »Advanced Structures: Between Interdisciplinarity and Methods«

As part of the Bauhaus Colloquium for Emerging Researchers 2026 at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Lars Abrahamczyk delivered the keynote lecture titled “Advanced Structures: Between Interdisciplinarity and Methods”. The talk explored how contemporary structural design operates at the intersection of multiple disciplines, methods and scientific processes.

Prof. Abrahamczyk emphasized that the development of advanced structural systems increasingly depends on methodological integration rather than isolated disciplinary approaches. Through selected research and design examples, he illustrated how analytical tools, experimental methods, and digital technologies can be combined to analyze complex systems while maintaining model quality. The lecture sparked a lively discussion among participants on the role of interdisciplinary research and practice.
