short description:
We will familiarise ourselves with the modalities of an art-in-architecture-competition using a concrete example (*1) and learn the technical possibility of using plants as signal transmitters for working with sound and language. In cooperation with the composer Cassis B. Staudt, who began incorporating plants into her compositional process in 2020, we will develop musical fragments directly on site. A guided tour of the site of the former Gauforum Weimar by the Facility Manager of the Thuringian State Administration Office, Mrs Heidemann, and an on-site discussion with the Head of the Düsseldorf Art Commission, Mr Nicolas Grosch, will be part of the development process.
(*1) In 2023, Suse Weber's design ‘Composition for a school bell_Open composition and integrated tool at the same time’ won an art-in-architecture competition in Düsseldorf. In cooperation with Cassis B. Staudt, acoustic samples are currently being created. These will be used on an internal signalling and loudspeaker system for a future school.
We would like to express our sincere thanks for their support to:
Cassis B. Staudt, Thuringian State Administration Office, the caretakers of the Atrium Weimar and Bauhaus-Universität Weimar
