The range of courses at the Chair of Design and Housing consists of both a structured and open design studio for theses and projects within M.Sc./B.Sc. Architecture programmes, which offers possible openings in the form of selected references at the beginning of each semester. These references serve as starting points for design work, while studio work is specifically based on the students' interests and a direct dialogue with them. Thus, it is possible to take up the thematic and methodic suggestions made by the Chair while working on individual topics. There will be the usual, regular mandatory colloquia alongside individual consultations as well as various opportunities for communication in a virtual studio. The design studio module comprises larger research parts and will be conducted by Prof Jasper Cepl and the Chair of Theory and History of Modern Architecture, which will offer a related seminar. This is particularly suited for students who are interested in the relationship between theory and design in the wider context of housing, and who wish to explore this in their own work.
