Manuscript guidelines

Forum Stadt publishes articles on urban research topics, in particular urban sociology, urban history, heritage conservation and urban regeneration. Before submitting a manuscript, we recommend that you check that it matches the content and focus of the journal.

1. We publish articles in two sections:

- New Studies in Science and Practice - scholarly articles of 30,000-40,000 characters including endnotes and references.

- Reviews - reviews of books, exhibitions or other scientific events, as well as contributions to discussions on current issues with a length of 6,000 characters

The manuscripts must be unpublished works that fulfil the rules of academic publishing. The editors reserve the right to suggest revisions.

The authors retain the copyrights of the published articles.

2. General information:

Manuscripts can be submitted in German or English.

The length of the manuscript should be between 30,000 - 40,000 characters, including tables, references, captions and endnotes. A more detailed summary (extended abstract) of approx. 4,000 characters for translation into English/ German is requested. The translation can be done by the authors themselves, otherwise it will be done by the editor-in-chief.

For reviews and short informational articles, a length of approx. 6,000 characters is recommended.

The short biography should not be longer than 300 characters.

Manuscripts can be created in digital text files: .docx, .rtf, or .odt.

Notes should appear as endnotes.

Authors are free to use the generic masculine or gender in their manuscript. The gender form is indicated by the colon.
