Doctoral candidates in individual projects without affiliation to one of the Research School's doctoral programmes and post-docs may apply for membership online. The application requires the confirmation by a supervisor and the doctoral candidate admissions board of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar as well as a short motivation statement (max. 200 words).
Doctoral students and post-docs in the doctoral programmes become members of the Bauhaus Research School automatically. Members of other universities may also be granted membership if they are participating in one of the Research School's doctoral programmes.
The Bauhaus Research School currently has more than 300 members.
You have appointed your representatives to the board of directors of the Bauhaus Research School - congratulations to Viola, Lena and Marko! This representation has 2 votes in the BRS board of directors and therefore directly influences the work of the BRS. Further topics of the general meeting on April 3, 2019, besides the election, were: Review & Outlook of the activities of the Bauhaus Research School, the future modularized workshop program as well as of course your questions and ideas, for example for a "new edition" of the doctoral research exhibition.
Your elected BRS doctoral/postdoctoral representation on the BRS Directorate for 2019/2020:
Many thanks also to Mouloud Allek, doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Media, who was active in the representation of doctoral candidates for 2 years!
For the first time in 2019, the doctoral candidates' body will elect a doctoral candidates' council at our university which will be able to "make recommendations to the committees and bodies of the university in all matters concerning them". The basis for this is the amended representation scope through the new Thuringian Higher Education Act (see § 21 Members, relatives and doctoral candidates, ThürHG of 10 May 2018).
Contact Viola, Lena and Marko with your ideas or suggestions!
The "Wishing Tree" at the BRS accepts your wishes! Come over to our offices at the Marienstraße 14 and write your wish for our tree. We will do our best to fulfil them!
