MEDIA fördert die Entwicklung, den Vertrieb und die Promotion europäischer audiovisueller Werke. Gefördert werden Vertriebs- und Verleihfirmen, Produktionsfirmen, VOD-Plattformen, Kinonetzwerke, Trainingsinitiativen, Festivals und Unternehmen, die Promotion-Maßnahmen für den europäischen Film durchführen. Projekte müssen sowohl in inhaltlicher als auch in wirtschaftlicher Ausrichtung eine europäische Dimension aufweisen.
Europäische Film- und Fernsehhochschulen sowie Universitäten sind nur in der Förderlinie "Training" antragsberechtigt.
