ACHAVA Festspiele Opening Ceremony at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in Pictures
This year, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar hosted the opening ceremony for the ACHAVA Festspiele Thüringen. The event began on 5 October 2023 with many discussions in the Main Building between survivors, University members, students and guests. This was followed by a kick-off party on campus.
The communicative sculpture Seat#12 by artist and Faculty of Media member Jenny Brockmann was installed in the foyer of the Main Building especially for the event. This inspired dialogue between attendees and offered a stimulating setting for discussion. Another event in the afternoon provided the chance for a meaningful exchange with Shoah survivors and their descendants. The high-profile event was also attended by the President of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar Prof. Peter Benz, the Mayor of Weimar Peter Kleine, and Ron Prosor, Israel's Ambassador to Germany.
