Bauhaus-Universität Weimar: Events

The event will be opened by an address from the Rector (President) of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Karl Beucke.

Through the current federal-state programme, it is now possible for universities to conduct large-scale projects that can deeply affect the structure and processes of the university. Universities are now facing new demands regarding the high commitment of personnel and financial resources that this will require in the present and in the future. The conference will focus on the tension that arises between the university-wide projects funded by third parties and the respective university. An area where conflict is bound to arise, as current structures and goals conflict with new objectives and ideas.

Project participants from different universities will give lectures, run workshops and present posters about their projects. They will discuss the current status as well as the problem areas they face in their projects with the other conference participants. During these discussions, various questions should be answered regarding the implementation of projects, such as how future hindrances can be avoided through careful planning during the proposal phase. Another topic that will be addressed is the question of how different individuals need to be connected and integrated so that the project participants are able to act constructively rather than just react.

The various work sessions will be accompanied and linked together through two keynote speakers and a panel discussion.
