Campus Pride Week at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar: A Strong Statement in Support of Diversity and Acceptance
To kick off the week, an Intersex-Inclusive Pride Progress flag will be displayed on the Main Building’s central balcony. The flag symbolises the diversity of gender identities and sexual orientations, making the university’s position visible.
Prof. Peter Benz, President of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar emphasised: »We are delighted that the Intersex-Inclusive Pride Progress flag is now flying over the university campus for Campus Pride Week for the fourth time. Flying the flag makes a clear statement regarding our commitment to diversity and the rights of queer people and our firm stance against any discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. We are continuously working on breaking down existing barriers, especially for the trans/inter/non-binary (TIN) community in everyday university life, and raising awareness regarding their concerns.«
