Bauhaus-Universität Weimar Cooperates with TeleVisionale Film and Series Festival
The TeleVisionale film and media festival will take place this year from 1 to 5 December in Weimar, right next door to the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. This traditional festival, which is being held in Weimar for the first time this year, provides a wonderful opportunity to initiate projects that will allow students to contribute to the programme and the festival week. The Faculty of Media and the Faculty of Art and Design will also be participating.
Medienkultur Students Analyse Public Cultural Offers
At the Faculty of Media, Medienkultur Bachelor degree programme students will join the festival from an academic perspective: As part of a practical module, the students are working closely together with ARD. In the accompanying workshop with programme director Bettina Kasten and editor Ineke Hagedorn in October, the students took an in-depth look at the tasks and challenges of public cultural broadcasting. In a design thinking process, they developed ideas for a cultural platform that directly reaches young target groups. The students' findings will be presented on 4 December at the ARD Kultur reception at TeleVisionale. The practical module is led by Prof. Lorenz Engell from the Professorship of Media Philosophy at the Faculty of Media.
POST IN DER POST: Interactive Exhibition Space in the Centre of Weimar
Art and Design students will be directly involved in the festival week: They will be transforming the empty rooms of a former gym into a temporary exhibition and meeting space. Centrally located in Weimar’s post office building at Goetheplatz, the space is in the heart of the city. Every day starting at 5 pm, interactive installations, performances, and video contributions from the fields of Cross-Media Moving Image and Creative Coding can be taken in under the title »POST IN DER POST«. Guests can watch live as the young filmmakers produce a documentary about the festival and discuss it over a drink in a small bar. On Thursday, 4 December 2025, the programme at the post office will also include a live music set by students from the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar.
In the Middle of all the Festival Action? Bauhaus-Universität Weimar Students
The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will also be participating in the TELEVISIONALE BRANCHENTAGEN. In the foyer of the Weimarhalle, festival participants will be able to view a monitor wall consisting of nine tube televisions. Students will also be showing freshly edited material directly from the festival grounds every day, taking an experimental look at the medium of television. Insights into the student-produced series »A CURE FOR LONELINESS« will also be given during a panel discussion.
The projects and documentation of the »POST IN DER POST« exhibition are supervised by Ting-Chin Liu. The panel discussion on the »A CURE FOR LONELINESS« series is organised by Polina Horosina.
