Bauhaus-Universität Weimar Hosts UNESCO World Heritage Day 2025
To mark the 20th anniversary of UNESCO World Heritage Day, the 54 World Heritage Sites in Germany invite you to discover and experience them on Sunday, 1 June 2025. Under the slogan »Communicate, Connect, Inspire«, the German UNESCO Commission and the Verein UNESCO-Welterbestätten Deutschland are celebrating the occasion with a broad range of activities. The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is also participating. Visitors can explore the World Heritage Sites in Weimar and revisit the early Bauhaus.
If you are interested in finding out more about the founding sites of the Bauhaus, make sure to attend the World Heritage Walk on Sunday, 1 June at 10 am or 1 pm: Accompanied by a student guide, visitors can see the Main Building of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, built by Henry van de Velde, with its vestibule, staircases, murals, studios, and the Director's Room designed by Walter Gropius, the Van de Velde Building, and the Prellerhaus. Afterwards, the two-hour tour continues through Ilm Park and past the Tempelherrenhaus to Haus Am Horn.
The walks are limited to 20 participants. Tickets are available online or at the Weimar Tourist Information.
