Bauhaus Spring School: Students From All Over Europe Come to the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar

»The great thing is that the students get the chance to know each other online before coming to Weimar as a group«, explains Kriistina Oelsner, Bauhaus Spring School coordinator. Participants come in from all over Europe: There are students from southern Europe, such as Cyprus and Spain, and then students from Finland and Estonia. In the process, students will have the opportunity to establish international networks, expand upon their skills and, of course, gain intercultural experience.

Students look at current issues in urban development and society during the Bauhaus Spring School: The courses offered by both Bauhaus-Universität Weimar instructor and guest lecturers cover a broad range of interdisciplinary topics: »The courses bring together various academic fields and disciplines. This means that the focus s not just on professional learning, but also provides the opportunity to look at challenges from different perspectives. This is essential for the complexity of the shared European labour market«, continues Oelsner.  The »Living and Housing« course will take place in close cooperation with the Klassik Stiftung Weimar. This will allow students to take a deep dive into the history of architecture and housing during their time in Weimar.

In addition to specialist courses, guided tours of Weimar, introductory events and excursions to Erfurt, Eisenach, Berlin and Dessau will also be offered. In the evenings, participants can show off their karaoke skills or end the days with some yoga.

On Friday 31 March at 3 pm, students will present their course results in Marienstr. 7B. The so-called »Open Ateliers« will be open to the public.

The Bauhaus Spring School: is an ERASMUS-funded project and is part of the short »Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme«.
