University Senate Confirms Appointment of Vice-Presidents to the Rectorate

Prof. Andrea Dimmig-Osburg will assume the office of Vice-President for Research and Art beginning in the summer semester 2014. After completing her studies in Chemical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Merseburg, the Weimar native began working at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in 1991 as a research assistant at the F.A. Finger Institute, where she also earned her doctorate. In 2003, she was appointed Junior Professor for Polymer Binders and Construction Materials at the Faculty of Civil Engineering. In November 2010, she became Chair of Polymer Construction Materials at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and at the start of 2012, joined the faculty’s board of directors as Vice-Dean.

Prof. Dr. Jutta Emes, professor in the area of Media Management at the Faculty of Media, will become the new Vice President for Academic Affairs. Prof. Emes was born in Haselünne/ Emsland. Following her degree in Business Administration, she earned her PhD at the University of Würzburg, where she continued working as research assistant until gaining her habilitation in 2004. She worked for brief periods at the University of Kassel, Steinbeis University in Berlin, the University of Liechtenstein and the Bundeswehr University in Munich. In 2011, Prof. Emmes was appointed Chair of Marketing and Media in the Faculty of Media at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

Both vice-presidents will begin their three-year term at the beginning of the summer semester in April 2014.
