First-Ever BAUHAUS4EU Staff Week at the Language Centre Promotes Linguistic and Intercultural Exchange
From 12 to 14 November, the Sprachenzentrum | Centre for Language and Cultural Learning at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar invites you to the BAUHAUS4EU Staff Week: The theme of the event is »Let’s Talk About Language!«, and staff from the language centres of all ten BAUHAUS4EU University Alliance partners will meet in Weimar for the first time for a »Dialogue of Languages«. The three-day programme will focus on learning about one another’s institutions and approaches and exchanging ideas about innovative course formats for students and employees. A total of 25 guests from all over Europe are expected to attend the event and collaborate on concepts for intercultural learning and linguistic networking.
The Staff Week is designed as a workshop lasting several days and is open to employees, instructors, and researchers interested in the topic. The Weimar edition is dedicated to the question of how low-threshold opportunities for linguistic and cultural exchange can be designed. It will also look at how to integrate microcredentials (certification options) for intercultural skills. Further information, including how to register, can be found in the BAUHAUS4EU course catalogue on the BAUHAUS4EU website.
The goal of the event is to promote cooperation within the B4EU Alliance and to establish a network between institutions based on language and intercultural competencies. Dialogue on multilingual teaching and learning formats will be the focus, along with the aim of learning from one another and providing new inspiration for internationalisation. This should facilitate long-term physical and virtual mobility opportunities (studying and teaching abroad, training, internships, etc.) for students and staff across national borders.
