Building for the engineering and IT departments at York University in Toronto, Canada

Canady Bursary at the York University Toronto for Informatik, CS4DM or HCI Students

As part of the Erasmus+ and KA171 programs, the Faculty of Media will be awarding a five-month bursary in 2026/2027 for a semester to be spent abroad at York University Toronto, Canada, which is one of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar’s partner universities. The bursary will be awarded to a student from one of the following degree programs: Informatik (B.Sc., from 5th semester), HCI (M.Sc.), CS4DM (M.Sc.). With around 50,000 students, York University is the third largest university in Canada. Since 2019, the Faculty of Media has been working in close collaboration with its School of the Arts, Media, Performance &
Design.

Study Period:
Winter semester 2026/27 or Summer semester 2027 

Bursary:
Duration: max. 5 months
Residence allowance: € 700 per month
Travel allowance: € 820 (single payment) 

Application requirements and procedure:
From November 1 to December 10, 2025 at: https://www.uni-weimar.de/en/university/international/for-students-go-abroad/study-abroad/application/ 

  • letter of motivation in English (at least one side of A4) and current CV
  • proof of very good English-language competence (TOEFL min. iBT: 88 / IELTS min. 6,5)
  • overview of current academic record
  • possible selection interview in January 2026
