Call for Papers: Bauhaus Colloquium for Emerging Researchers 2026
Methods influence research and determine how questions are asked, results are produced, and knowledge is communicated. At the same time, they also form the foundation of scientific credibility in the sense that those who show how insights are gained are those who make science understandable and available to society.
The Bauhaus Colloquium for Emerging Researchers, scheduled to take place from 5 to 6 March 2026 at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, is dedicated to the topic of »Methods + Interdisciplinary Research Work«. The event offers early-career researchers a platform where they can reflect on methodological questions across disciplines and explore new forms of academic exchange.
Call for Papers
Under the title »Methods + Interdisciplinary Research Work«, contributions that focus on methodological approaches and interdisciplinary collaboration may be submitted. The goal is to understand methods as a unifying element between different research traditions — critically, creatively, and open to new perspectives.
Topics may include:
- The influence of disciplinary cultures on methods
- Methodological transparency and scientific scepticism
- Conditions for methodological innovation (e.g. funding structures, institutional contexts)
- Expanding the methodological canon through artistic or practice-based approaches
The conference will give emerging researchers the opportunity to build interdisciplinary networks, exchange ideas about methodological questions and research practices, and receive feedback and inspiration through panels and keynote speeches. A selection of the contributions will be published in the »Tagungsband des XV. Internationalen Bauhaus-Kolloquium«.

Session submission deadline: mid-February (6–8 pages)
