From 6 to 9 November 2024, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar hosted the first meeting of the Bauhaus4EU Student Council. Student representatives from all nine countries within the Bauhaus4EU university alliance met to lay the foundation for active and sustainable collaboration while formulating shared visions.

A project in the Faculty of Art and Design is working on digitally customised, 3D printed foot orthoses. The project will make everyday life easier for affected patients. Researchers on the »Digitale Orthetik« project were awarded a gold medal at the international »Ideen, Erfindungen, Neuheiten« (iENA) trade fair. The project was funded by the Thuringian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Science and Digital Society.

Die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar und die Materialforschungs- und -prüfanstalt Weimar (MFPA) gründen in Kooperation mit der Stiftung für Technologie, Innovation und Forschung Thüringen (STIFT) das SchülerForschungsZentrum Weimar (SFZ). Mit einem Schwerpunkt im Bereich Bau, Umwelt und Informatik entsteht im Erdgeschoss der Marienstraße 7B ein neuer Ort für naturwissenschaftlich-technisch-interessierte Schüler*innen und MINT-Talente ab der 4. Klassenstufe.

The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the Materials Research and Testing Laboratory Weimar (MFPA) have joined the »Stiftung für Technologie, Innovation und Forschung Thüringen« to found the Science Discovery Centre. Specialising in construction, the environment, and computer science, the new location is being developed on the ground floor of Marienstraße 7B for STEM enthusiasts and students interested in science and technology from the 4th grade and up.

Markus Weisbeck, Professor of Graphic Design in the Visual Communication degree programme, and Björn Dahlem, Professor of Sculpture, Object, Installation in Fine Art, travelled to Tainan University of Technology (TUTech) in October 2024. The purpose of the visit was to deepen the cooperation that has existed between the two professorships and the Taiwanese university since 2023.
