Dr. Ulrike Kuch, Vice President for Social Transformation at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar has been appointed to a position in Vienna. On Thursday, 24 July, the University of Applied Arts Vienna committees confirmed Ulrike Kuch’s election to the position of Rector at the renowned Viennese art academy. She is set to take office in fall of 2025.

The second open call has been launched as part of the European research project » Local Accessible Urban Digital Sustainable Factories« (LAUDS). The call is looking for interdisciplinary teams of artists, designers, creatives and technology providers who want to jointly develop new solutions in the fields of mobility, energy, agriculture and food. At least eight projects will be funded with up to 27,000 euros each.

Vom 22. September bis 01. Oktober 2025 findet das nächste ProTELC Science Camp zum Thema »Structural Soundscapes - Akustische Interpretation von Erdbeben und Bauwerkserschütterungen« an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar statt. Der Workshop richtet sich an Studierende, die »hands-on«-Erfahrungen mit Schwingungen von Strukturen und ihrer Verbindung zu Klang und musikalischen Signalen sammeln wollen.

This is good news, however, for Potsdam residents and for art enthusiasts who enjoy travelling, as a highlight has been added to their holiday plans: Under the title »UNBOXING BAUHAUS«, students are leaving their »Weimar bubble« and taking up residence with their works at two Potsdam exhibition venues from 17 July to 24 August 2025.

Zur Jahresschau »summaery2025« vom 10. bis 13. Juli 2025 präsentierten die Studierenden und Lehrenden der Universität auf dem Campus sowie inner- und außerhalb der Stadt ihre Arbeiten, Ideen und Diskurse. Das von der federführenden Fakultät Kunst und Gestaltung konzeptionell und grafisch entwickelte Motto »ACHTUNG«. Mehr als 5.500 Besucher*innen nutzten die Gelegenheit, unsere Universität kennenzulernen, die Ausstellungen und Veranstaltungen zu besuchen und mit uns den Abschluss des Studienjahres zu feiern. Unsere Fotografen Thomas Müller und Matthias Eckert waren auch dabei und haben vier ereignisreiche Tage mit Ausstellungen, Veranstaltungen und großartiger Stimmung vor Ort abgelichtet.
