Recycling decommissioned wind turbines: Prof Kim Meow Liew holds Humboldt Lecture

In 2024, Prof Dr Kim Meow Liew from the City University of Hong Kong was awarded the Carl Zeiss Humboldt Research Prize for Experts in Mechanics and Sustainable Engineering. He was nominated by the Institute of Structural Mechanics (ISM) at the Bauhaus University Weimar, where he spent the summer on a research visit. He invites all interested parties to attend a guest lecture on »STEM Roles in Clean Energy Development and Sustainability« on 27 March 2025 at 10 a.m. in Lecture Hall D at Marienstraße 13.

Bauhaus-Universität Weimar beteiligt sich an Thüringer Mobilitätskonferenz in Erfurt

Mobilität ist der Motor für gesellschaftlichen und wirtschaftlichen Fortschritt in Thüringen: Diesem Schlüsselthema widmet sich am Donnerstag und Freitag, 27./28. März 2025, im COMCENTER Brühl (Erfurt) die Thüringer Mobilitätskonferenz, die gemeinsam von der Landesentwicklungsgesellschaft Thüringen mbH (LEG) und dem Thüringer Ministerium für Digitales und Infrastruktur (TMDI) ausgerichtet wird. Die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar bringt mit dem Projekt »MOVEwell – Mobilitätsverbund werthaltige ländliche Lebensräume« zentrale wissenschaftliche Impulse in die Konferenz ein.

Bauhaus-Universität Weimar Participates Thuringian »Mobilitätskonferenz« in Erfurt

Mobility is the driving force behind social and economic progress in Thuringia: This is the focus of the Thuringian Mobilitätskonferenz, which will take place on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 March 2025 at the COMCENTER Brühl (Erfurt). The event is jointly organised by the »Landesentwicklungsgesellschaft (LEG)« and the Thüringer Ministerium für Infrastruktur und Landwirtschaft (TMIL). The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is making a major scientific contribution with its »MOVEwell – Mobilitätsverbund werthaltige ländliche Lebensräume« project.

BEYOND NOW – Bauhaus-Universität Weimar startet im April ihre Jahresthemen

Ab dem Sommersemester 2025 initiiert die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar unter dem Titel »BEYOND NOW ⸺ Umwelten ⸺ Technik ⸺ Mensch« erstmals ihre insgesamt sechs Semester umfassenden Jahresthemen. Bis Ende des Wintersemesters 2027/2028 möchte das Präsidium damit gezielt die Sichtbarkeit und Wirksamkeit ihrer Forschungs-, Lehr- und Transferaktivitäten in die Gesellschaft hinein erhöhen.

Transporting Heavy-Duty Technology with Ease: Media Technical Service Receives Innovative Cargo E-Bikes

An unusual vehicle is rolling around campus at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar: a four-wheeled cargo bike that looks more like a small car than your traditional bicycle. On Thursday, 20 March, the bike officially started operation with Chancellor Dr. Horst Henrici handing over the electric transport vehicle to the Media Technical Service (MTS). The e-bike will help technology to be transported between venues more easily and sustainably.

International Students Present Multifaceted Exhibition on the Holocaust and Second World War in the DNT's Redoute

Students from the Visuelle Kommunikation (Visual Communication) and Media Art and Design degree programmes artistically explored the individual and collective memories of the Holocaust and the Second World War. Films, video collages, set designs, and screenplay projects were created in several projects and courses. The students are presenting their work under the title »Morgen ist heute gestern« as part of the Deutsche Nationaltheater and Staatskapelle Weimar’s »Ressource Erinnerung« in the Redoute.
