What happens when a forest changes? Students from the »PostCompost – Forest Reset« research project are examining the transformation of the Thuringian Forest with instructors Klaus Fritze-Herbst and Christian Doeller. Using artistic and scientific methods, the group is making it possible to understand how nature, landscapes, and habitats are evolving and reshaping themselves.

Niels Cremer and Tom Kemter received an honourable mention at the Rimowa Design Prize ceremony on Tuesday, 13 May 2025. Their »Standalone« redesign of the traditional crutch won over the jury. The Produktdesign (Product Design) students from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar received a total of 10,000 euros in prize money for their design.

The Lernraum.Bauhaus Symposium and eTeach Annual Conference 2025 are focussing together on the future of teaching and learning, as well as the question of how this can be spatially shaped. The joint event, titled »Spacing – Lernen zwischen Räumen.«, will take place from 24 to 26 September 2025 at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Contributions may be submitted until 1 June.

Am Samstag, 17. Mai 2025, lädt Weimar wieder zur »Langen Nacht der Museen« ein. Auch die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar ist mit ihren historischen Bauhaus-Stätten im Van-de-Velde-Ensemble, dem Raumkunstwerk »Wohnraum Adolf Meyer« und Mitmach-Stationen dabei. Im Bauhaus.Atelier wird es neben Informationen zur Langen Nacht auch Snacks und Erfrischungen sowie eine extra eingerichtete Sirupbar für Kinder geben.

Am 23. und 24. Mai 2025 lädt die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar gemeinsam mit der Literarischen Gesellschaft Thüringen (LGT) zur zehnten Ausgabe der »Poetryfilmtage« ein. Das Festival für Poesiefilm und Videopoetry feiert sein Bestehen mit einem vielfältigen Programm rund um das diesjährige Thema »Humor«.
