Der Bauhaus-Universitätsverlag Weimar lädt am Mittwoch, 29. Oktober 2025, 18 Uhr, zur Präsentation des Buches »Die Handlungsmacht des Betrachters – Kunstausstellungen und ihr Publikum« von Karl Schawelka in das Bauhaus-Atelier ein. Nach einem Grußwort des Dekans der Fakultät Kunst und Gestaltung (angefragt) führt Prof. Dr. Kai-Uwe Schierz (Erfurt) in den Themenkreis der Publikation ein und spricht anschließend mit dem Autor über zentrale Thesen des Buches.

Für den schriftlichen Teil ihrer Diplomarbeit »Kartografie summender Rückstände – Im Schlick wühlen« wurde die Freie-Kunst-Absolventin Laura Wiemers mit dem mit 3.500 Euro dotierten Förderpreis »Junge Kunst« der VerbundVolksbank OWL Stiftung in der Kategorie »Literatur/Sprache« ausgezeichnet.

During the Matriculation Ceremony on 15 October 2025, the University was not only an occasion to welcome new students, it was also an event to recognise outstanding academic and artistic achievements. A number of students, as well as an upcoming scientist and an upcoming artist, were awarded the 2025 University Prize for their work. The awards were presented by President Prof. Peter Benz in front of a packed audience in the Maurice-Halbwachs-Auditorium. The President congratulated the winners and praised their contributions to the University.

In den vier Fakultäten der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar sind neue Fakultätsleitungen gewählt worden. Die Dekan*innen werden von Universitätspräsident Prof. Peter Benz bestellt und amtieren für drei Jahre bis zum Beginn des Wintersemesters 2028.
