Project description

“wouldn’t it be wonderful if all our letters could be published in the future in a more enlightened time? then all the world could see how in love we are.”

Gordon Bowsher and Gilbert Bradley were two soldiers who fell in love in World War II. For many years they exchanged love letters, despite the danger of loving a person of the same sex at that time. With this short film, I want to reflect on their resilience from almost 100 years ago and on the resilience of the present, not only against the Covid-19 pandemic but also because of the persistent discrimination we face. Thus, I invited 5 young people for a series of interviews in which they share with me their experiences living outside the cisheternormative box, as well as the message we want to give to those who might be resilient in the future.

It is a 360º experience with ambisonic sound to recreate the feeling of being surrounded by the participants. The encounter with the community I belong to is the inspiration to use this immersive medium, even more so in the times of Covid where virtuality overwhelmed us. Being together should be more valued than ever.
