Project description

The master project in construction is a core element of the master degree programme Management for Construction, Real Estate and Infrastructure. In this project, students approach subject-related research and practice-relevant questions from a scientific perspective.
The project took place completely remotely for the first time in summer semester 2020. From the presentation of the topic, to the consultations, to the interim and final presentation, everything was handled digitally, due to the corona pandemic. The final presentations of the groups will be made available as video files for the remote Summaery 2020.
The students worked in three groups on varying tasks, whereby the topic BIM, acronym for Building Information Modeling, is the common denominator in all task descriptions. Topics related to formwork planning, by participating in the recognized PERI construction exercise - naturally BIM-based - or by creating a fictitious (but complete and stringent) employer information requirements (EIR) for an exemplary road construction project. In addition, BIM as well as lean construction-based aspects of quality management in construction were examined.
