On Saturday, 30 May 2026, from 9 am to 3 pm, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will provide visitors with a comprehensive insight into its range of courses and answer the following questions: What is the right degree programme for me? How can I finance my studies? What can I expect in Weimar and on campus? These questions and others will be answered by Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and Studierendenwerk Thüringen staff in the foyer of the Mensa am Park at Marienstraße 15 starting at 9 am. Guests will be provided with general and subject-specific information on studying.

Die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar und der Weimarer Republik e.V. laden in diesem Jahr zu einer sechsteiligen Veranstaltungsreihe unter dem Titel »Medien und Demokratie im Umbruch« ein. Am Dienstag, 26. Jun.-Prof. Dr. Jasmin Degeling (Professur Medienanthropologie) ist Mitglied im Herausgeber*innenkollektiv des transdisziplinären Journals kultur & geschlecht – einem Open-Access-Publikationsort an der Schnittstelle von Medien- und Genderstudies, das presserechtlich an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar angesiedelt ist. In der aktuellen dritten Ausgabe ist sie zudem als Mitglied der Redaktion tätig.

Rebekka Ladewig knows the Faculty of Media well; from 2018 to 2020, she held the Professorship of History and Theory of Cultural Technologies on a temporary basis. She was appointed to her permanent professorship on 1 February 2026. Inbetween, she held visiting professorships at the University of Vienna, HfG Offenbach, and HfG Karlsruhe, as well as fellowships and research residencies at the Bauhaus Research School Weimar, IFK Vienna, and Oxford University. She also led a research project funded by the VolkswagenStiftung on the visual and cultural history of the arrow.

Marlon Miguel, Postdoctoral Fellow in the Freigeist project “Madness, Media, Milieus” sponsored by the Volkswagen Foundation at the Faculty of Media at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, has published his monograph Falatório / Chatter. The book was developed within the framework of the research project “Madness, Media, Milieus. Reconfiguring the Humanities in Postwar Europe.”

Dr. Elena Vogman, Freigeist Fellow der Volkswagenstiftung an der Fakultät Medien, hat gemeinsam mit dem Philosophen und Medientheoretiker Matteo Pasquinelli die Ausgabe 162 des renommierten e-flux Journal herausgegeben. Das e-flux Journal zählt zu den international einflussreichsten Plattformen für zeitgenössische Kunst, Medientheorie und kritische Kulturtheorie und fungiert als zentrale Schnittstelle zwischen künstlerischer Praxis, Medientheorie und kritischer Gegenwartsanalyse.

Will it look the same as it does in the picture? Online fashion platforms affect women’s self-image more strongly than previously thought. A recent study at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar has shown that digital shopping experiences have a profound impact on body perception with consequences that affect users, the economy, and the environment. The research will be presented and awarded at the prestigious CHI Conference in Barcelona from 13 to 17 April 2026.
