Students of the Faculty of Media become familiar with contemporary media-related issues in one of four degree programmes: Media Culture, Computer Science and Media, Media Design and Media Management. Media lies at the centre of an interconnected system of science, technology, art and economics. We invite you to learn more about this broad thematic spectrum. Conduct research under expert supervision! Experiment in excellently equipped laboratories and workshops! Be creative and inventive! Do something meaningful with media!
Have you always wanted to study Chinese art and cultural history? Are you interested in learning about film theory in a European context? Do you want to improve your professional English skills during your degree programme? All of our programmes offer international opportunities and promising career perspectives around the world. For example, you can apply for admission to one of our bi- or trinational degree programmes with our partner universities in Shanghai, Lyon and Utrecht. Two of our master’s degree programmes are taught entirely in English. And should you suffer from a bout of wanderlust, why not complete a semester abroad at one of the many universities with which we have signed a cooperation agreement?
The Faculty of Media offers a creative environment where students are encouraged to experiment from the very beginning. The project-oriented working atmosphere and the well-equipped laboratories and workshops provide ideal conditions for putting theory into practice during one’s studies. And though gaining expertise in your subject area is important, we also encourage you to look around and take courses in other faculties and degree programmes which interest you.
The personal contact to professors at the Faculty of Media plays a key role in creating an open, trusting atmosphere. Any concerns or problems you have will be taken seriously. At the same time, practical projects teach students to work in an independent and solution-oriented manner. This is where you learn to analyse, design and make decisions on your own.
Consequently, there are diverse professional opportunities available to you after graduation, e.g. in the areas of art and cultural production, cultural and project management, marketing, media consulting, public relations, media research and planning, programme and event planning in the entertainment industry, designing services for service providers and user interfaces for the IT and media industry, and research and teaching.
