GATE is a practice program connecting students and recent graduates with attractive regional employers. In diverse teams, you will work on real tasks provided by companies and, together with your peers, develop innovative solutions for future-focused topics. Throughout the program, you’ll be supported by experienced mentors, get hands-on workshops in agile project management, and collaborate directly with industry professionals. |

03. October 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. | Workshop Agile Projektmanagement & Teambuilding
Kick off your GATE project as a strong team: Learn agile methods, define roles and agree on working practices. Mandatory workshop – missing either day means exclusion from the programme.

05.-07. October 2026 | Project Clarification Meeting at your Company
First team meeting (90min) with your company project supervisor, accompanied by the GATE programme coordinator. Agree on tasks, goals and collaboration mode and tools.
Location: on site at your company
October 2026 - January 2027 | Project Work with Regular Review Meetings
Work on your challenge as a team and meet your company supervisor 2x/month for 90-min reviews.
Ort: Online or in-person by agreement
18. November 2026, 4-6:00 p.m. | Mid-term Meeting
Practise your project pitch, receive and give peer feedback, and learn from how other teams tackle their GATE challenge.
Location: ONLINE
15. January 2027, 3–5 p.m. | Closing Ceremony & Poster Presentation
Present your results to companies and university representatives, make valuable contacts, and celebrate your achievements together.

GATE is an exclusive program for high-achieving and motivated students. Participation is limited and based on a selection process. Academic performance, project suitability, and strong motivation are important criteria for selection.
For international applicants, German language skills are not mandatory, but having them significantly improves your chances of being selected. Good German skills facilitate collaboration with German companies and are therefore highly valued.
For German applicants, good English skills are essential, as teamwork takes place in an international environment.
Application for summer semester opens on March 11, 2026. Please apply via the CONGENO portal. Submit a motivation letter and your CV. Describe your skills and, if applicable, any experience you have in the relevant project area. If you are interested in multiple projects, please indicate your priorities (1, 2, 3).
We highly recommend to come to the info event on March 10, 3 pm online, where companies will explain their projects and answer your questions.
