Open Reading during the Long Night of Academic Writing

Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Photographer: Lukas Löffler; Artist: Wolfgang Nieblich "spektrum zwei. Werk-Nr. 1/1999".

Scientific texts are one of the fundaments of science and can provide important impulses in social discourse. At the same time they are able to affect us, to churn us and to lure us out of our mental comfort zones.
Accordingly, within the scope of the 6th annual Long Night of Scientific Writing on 4 June 2020 and in cooperation with the Deutschen Nationaltheater Weimar, we plan on creating an open space for ‘virtual’ readings.
Read out your favourite passages from academic texts in a language of your choice that have moved, enriched and shaped you. Inspire others to think, visualise and write in new ways.
Whether you are a student, scientist, research assistant, professor or a staff member of the university, we are very pleased to welcome you to the longest reading at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

Notes on compliance with copyright

  1. During the reading, the Copyright Act of 9 September 1965 (Federal Law Gazette I p. 1273),  last amended by Art. 1 G v. 28 November 2018 I 2014, applies.
  2. All lectors undertake to use only works that have been registered with the organizer in advance.
  3. All lectors undertake to name the author(s) and co-author(s) of the texts used during the reading.
  4. The lectors are responsible for the content they provide during the Open Reading. Please also note the Disclaimer on the website of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
  5. By registering, the lectors consent to the live broadcast of the reading as part of the Open Reading.
  6. Own recordings of any kind of the live reading are prohibited.
  7. Participation as a lector takes place without remuneration.
