Der Deutsche Verkehrssicherheitsrat (DVR) und die gesetzlichen Unfallversicherungsträger haben am 26. August 2022 den jährlichen Förderpreis für Abschlussarbeiten verliehen, die sich wissenschaftlich mit Themen der Verkehrssicherheit befassen. Für ihre Masterarbeit zum Thema Überholabstände zwischen Kfz- und Radfahrenden erhielt Wiebke Mros den 3. Preis.

Für seine Dissertation mit dem Thema »Lebenszeichen. Mediale Artikulationen menschlicher Existenz in Not- und Katastrophensituationen« ist Martin Siegler, Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an der Professur für Medienphilosophie an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, mit einem zweiten Preis in der Sektion Geistes- und Kulturwissenschaften des Deutschen Studienpreises 2022 prämiert worden. Der von der Körber-Stiftung ausgelobte Preis zeichnet exzellente Arbeiten mit besonderer gesellschaftlicher Bedeutung aus.

Martin Siegler, who is a research associate within the Professorship for Media Philosophy at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, has been awarded second prize in the humanities and cultural studies section of the 2022 German Study Prize for his dissertation on the subject of media articulations of human existence in emergency and catastrophe situations. Conferred by the Körber Foundation, this award honours outstanding work of particular social significance.

In its meeting on 6 July 2022, the University Senate unanimously voted in Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andrea Osburg as the new Vice President for Research, Arts and Young Academics. The professor for construction chemistry and polymeric building materials was nominated by the Interim President of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and appointed for three years beginning immediately after the vote, in accordance with the University Charter. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andrea Osburg’s term in office thus began on 6 July and she will be available at least until the future university president takes office.

On Friday 15 July 2022, Hannes Dünnebier was honoured with the Lyonel Art Prize during the »summaery2022« annual show at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. The award for outstanding young artists is endowed with €2,000 and has been conferred to artistic dissertations from the Faculty of Art and Design since 2019 by the Lyonel e. V. association for the promotion of art, design and culture.

Seit dem 1. März ist Dr. Jürgen Rösch auf die neu geschaffene Tenure-Track-Professur für Digitale Ökonomien an der Fakultät Medien berufen worden. Zunächst als Juniorprofessur auf sechs Jahre angelegt, geht die Stelle nach positiver Zwischenevaluation in eine Lebenszeitprofessur über. Die Professur ist eine von acht neuen Tenure-Track-Professuren an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, die die Universität im Rahmen des Bund-Länder-Programms zur Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses einwerben konnte.

Auf der Mitgliederversammlung der Bauhaus Weiterbildungsakademie Weimar (WBA) wurde Ende Mai 2022 ein neuer Vorstand gewählt. Für weitere zwei Jahre wurden Gudrun Kopf, Dezernentin für Studium und Lehre, Dr. Susanne Kirchmeyer, Leiterin des Sprachenzentrums, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Uwe Plank-Wiedenbeck, Dekan der Fakultät Bauingenieurwesen, und Prof. Dr.-Ing. Horst-Michael Ludwig, Prodekan Forschung an der Fakultät Bauingenieurwesen, im Amt bestätigt.

Seit April 2022 verstärkt Prof. Dr. Jan Oliver Ringert als Professor für Software Engineering den Fachbereich Medieninformatik an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Fakultät Medien. Ringert hat an der TU Braunschweig Informatik studiert und wurde an der RWTH Aachen promoviert. Nach wissenschaftlichen Stationen in Tel Aviv und Leicester war er zuletzt als Lecturer am King’s College in London tätig.

Today, Wednesday, 6 April 2022, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar University Assembly elected Prof. Dr. Jutta Emes as Interim President of the university. Prof. Emes has been carrying out the responsibilities of University President for the last six weeks in her role as the Presidium’s interim President. Interim President is an independent position provided for in the Thuringian Higher Education Act (ThürHG) and is elected to take over duties during the period between when a President leaves office and a new President is elected. The election requires a professorial majority vote from professors belonging to the University Assembly.

Ende 1999 wurde Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans-Joachim Bargstädt an die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar berufen. Nach über 22 Jahren Lehr- und Forschungstätigkeit an der Fakultät Bauingenieurwesen übergab der Universitätsprofessor am 05. April 2022 den Staffelstab offiziel an seinen Nachfolger Prof. Dr.-Ing. An der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar werden ab 2022 acht neue Tenure-Track-Professorinnen und -Professoren forschen und lehren, zwei an jeder Fakultät. Für die Universität besteht dadurch die Chance, hervorragende Nachwuchswissenschaftlerinnen und -wissenschaftler und Nachwuchskünstlerinnen und -künstler zu gewinnen und ihnen eine langfristige Perspektive in Weimar zu bieten. The professorship is based in the Faculties of Civil Engineering and Media and is instrumental in the basic education of Weimar’s engineering and computer science programmes.

Die Professur ist an den Fakultäten Bauingenieurwesen und Medien verankert und für die Grundlagenausbildung des Weimarer Ingenieur- und Informatikstudiums prägend.
