Developing International Teaching: Staff Week for European BAUHAUS Courses
At the end of the year, the BAUHAUS4EU (B4EU) University Alliance will be hosting a Staff Week together with the Bauhaus Summer School. From 8 to 12 December, around 30 staff members from all ten partner universities, as well as from Kharkiv National University of Economics, Kharkiv School of Architecture and Lviv National Academy of Arts in Ukraine, will meet and visit the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Under the slogan »Summerschools als Instrument zur Umsetzung europäischer BAUHAUS-Kurse« (Summer School as a Tool for Implementing European BAUHAUS Courses), the workshop will focus on international short-term programme formats.
On Thursday 11 December, a Gallery Walk will take place at 4 pm in the University Library. The event will present some initial ideas for future Summer School and Spring School offers. University President Prof. Peter Benz will open the event. Instructors and researchers from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar are warmly invited to learn about the concepts developed by their international colleagues and to network with one another.
During the week, participants will develop course approaches that can be implemented in international short-term formats. For further information, contact the Bauhaus Summer School Team: summerschool[at]uni-weimar.de.
What are European BAUHAUS courses?
European BAUHAUS courses are intended to establish new, interdisciplinary course formats inspired by the Bauhaus.Modules at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. The formats centre around internationalising collaboration and topics. The courses are intended to be not only cross-faculty, but also to unite teaching staff from all partner universities at the European level. In addition, the expertise of regional partners of the B4EU Alliance—from industry, civil society, culture, and politics—will feed into the development of courses. This is meant to ensure that course content is shaped by diverse perspectives and can address practical challenges at both regional and international levels.
Do you have ideas for interdisciplinary European BAUHAUS courses? BAUHAUS4EU provides support with planning and materials. For further information, contact b4eu-courses[at]uni-weimar.de.
