Photo Competition for Students: Take Part and Win a Trip to Poland
This week kicks off the first of four annual BAUHAUS4EU European University Alliance-organised photo competitions. Students and doctoral candidates at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar or at other Alliance universities are eligible to participate. The theme of the competition is »Inclusive Grounds: Stories of Belonging and Resilience« and is a call to participants to see their respective campuses as living ecosystems and to look for moments that reflect the B4EU Alliance's mission in terms of its values of resilience, sustainability, inclusivity, and beauty.
Prizes include participation in the major BAUHAUS4EU Forum, which will take place in Katowice (Poland) at the end of June 2026 and provides the opportunity for personal and professional development and local excursions.
The »Inclusive Grounds: Stories of Belonging and Resilience« photo competition highlights the university campus as a living space where people from different cultural, social, and academic backgrounds can come together not only to learn, but to live, interact with one another, and shape their environment together.
Students are encouraged to explore how their university spaces – including classrooms, libraries, laboratories, dormitories, cafeterias, and courtyards – become places of resilience, sustainability, inclusivity, and beauty. How do these everyday environments support well-being, promote collaboration, welcome differences, and create shared moments?
A ten-member jury will evaluate the submissions over two rounds: Once an initial selection of the top three submissions from the ten universities has been made, a final round will take place. The jury will then select three winning photos together from the total of thirty images chosen in the preliminary round. The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar juror is Julia Albrecht, artistic staff member from the Professorship of Photography.
Conditions and details on the competition and the entry form can be found on the BAUHAUS4EU website (in English only): https://www.bauhaus4.eu/activities/photo-contest/
