Neue Ideen, neue Wege: Das Startup-Programm »neudeli Fellowship« kürt die Fellows des Wintersemesters 2025/26

Große Ideen beginnen oft im Kleinen: Mit dem neudeli Fellowship der Gründungswerkstatt neudeli werden Studierende, Absolvent*innen und Forschende der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar ausgezeichnet, die mit Mut, Neugier und Gestaltungswillen an ihrer eigenen Gründungsidee arbeiten. In der 22. Runde des Startup-Programms unterstützt die Gründungswerkstatt neudeli erneut Menschen, die ihre ersten Konzepte weiterentwickeln und in erfolgreiche Gründungen verwandeln möchten.

Kanada-Stipendium an der UBC Vancouver für Medienkultur- oder Medienwissenschaft-Studierende

Die Fakultät Medien vergibt im Rahmen des Erasmus+ Programms KA171 für eine*n Studierende*n der Studiengänge Medienkultur (B.A.) und Medienwissenschaft (M.A.) ein viermonatiges Stipendium für ein Auslandssemester an der Partneruniversität »University of British Columbia« in Vancouver. Mit rund 60.000 Studierenden zählt die UBC zu den renommiertesten staatlichen Universitäten Kanadas. Die Fakultät Medien verfügt über eine langjährige Kooperation mit der Faculty of Arts, Department of Central, Eastern and Northern European Studies.

Impressions from the 2025 graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering

On Saturday, 25 October 2025, everyone gathered in the Maurice Halbwachs Auditorium to celebrate, applaud and say goodbye to a period of study full of projects, challenges and unforgettable moments. Prof. Tom Lahmer, Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, hosted the event and encouraged the 224 graduates to break new ground and trust in their own abilities. Inspiring speeches by alumna Ni Michelle Ying and Master's graduate Jinyue Chi, live music by Johanna Phillip and Tim Ahlfeld, and many personal encounters made the ceremony a special highlight of the year. Senior Professor Hans-Joachim Bargstädt honoured two graduates with the Erhard Hampe Young Talent Award from the Association of Friends of Civil Engineering and Building Materials Engineering (vfbb) for their outstanding theses.

Canady Bursary at the York University Toronto for Informatik, CS4DM or HCI Students

As part of the Erasmus+ and KA171 programs, the Faculty of Media will be awarding a five-month bursary in 2026/2027 for a semester to be spent abroad at York University Toronto, Canada, which is one of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar’s partner universities. The bursary will be awarded to a student from one of the following degree programs: Informatik (B.Sc., from 5th semester), HCI (M.Sc.), CS4DM (M.Sc.). With around 50,000 students, York University is the third largest university in Canada. Since 2019, the Faculty of Media has been working in close collaboration with its School of the Arts, Media, Performance &
Design.

Call for Papers: Bauhaus Colloquium for Emerging Researchers 2026

Methoden prägen Forschung – sie bestimmen, wie Fragen gestellt, Ergebnisse erzeugt und Wissen vermittelt wird. Gleichzeitig sind sie Grundlage wissenschaftlicher Glaubwürdigkeit: Nur wer zeigt, wie Erkenntnisse entstehen, macht Wissenschaft nachvollziehbar und öffnet sie für die Gesellschaft.

Call for Papers: Bauhaus Colloquium for Emerging Researchers 2026

On Friday, 14 November 2025, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and its Startup Hub »neudeli« will be hosting the »Innovators Homecoming« event for the first time. The new event format will bring Bauhaus-Universität Weimar alumni, students, and employees together to showcase entrepreneurial spirit and innovative drive at the University.

Philosophie der Natur neu gelesen: Dr. Mathias Schönher veröffentlicht Buch zu Gilles Deleuze

Der französische Philosoph Gilles Deleuze (1925–1995) wäre in diesem Jahr einhundert Jahre alt geworden. An der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, besonders an der Fakultät Medien, wird das Werk von Deleuze seit vielen Jahren erforscht und weitergedacht: von seiner Theorie des Kinos über seine Auffassung von Differenz und Wiederholung bis hin zu seinen Thesen zur Kontrollgesellschaft und zum kreativen Umgang mit Maschinen.
