Affirming EU climate goals by establishing a new »European Bauhaus« and supporting the European Green Deal - The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar responds enthusiastically to the initiative put forth by EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in October 2020. A work group was quickly formed and is preparing to apply for a new »European Bauhaus Weimar« to be one of the project’s five selected locations.

This means there's no time to lose: A broadly based, open concept with numerous Thuringian, national and international partners is planned to be developed. The steering committee wants to involve all interested parties from the university in the process and bring together and exchange a wide range of plans, projects, opportunities and resources.
To this end, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is calling on all instructors, students and staff to participate in this major undertaking and future-oriented project and to contribute their ideas for a new »European Bauhaus Weimar«. Your ideas, narrative, projects and designs are needed to fuel the new »European Bauhaus Weimar« and bring it to life.

Idea Pitch on 19 February 2021, 2pm to 5pm
All submissions and ideas can then be presented to the university in an idea pitch from 2pm - 5pm on Friday, 19 February 2021. Due to the pandemic, this will take place digitally, but still in a collaborative format. The digital room will also include possible participation formats and work group possibilities, as well as the opportunity for discussion. Event and platform details will be announced soon.
The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar hopes to initiate a new »European Bauhaus« movement and to create a space for collaborative creative design where architects, artists, students, scientists, engineers and designers can work together and realize a transdisciplinary, international vision!
We look forward to collaborating! Questions and submissions can be e-mailed to project coordinator Mats Werchohlad (mats.werchohlad[at]uni-weimar.de).
