Dr. Irina Kaldrack

Welcome!

This Lectureship explores the relationship between society and digitalization on multiple levels. From the perspective of cultural media studies, it examines the cultural, social, and ecological dimensions of the increasing proliferation of digital media technologies in contemporary life.

The focus is on how digital media cultures shape community formation and modulate society. Topics include questions of empowerment and disempowerment through digital media and technologies, phenomena of tracking and regulation in (and of) the public sphere, and the relationship between sustainability (as a global societal project) and digitalization.
