Chair of Information Security and Cryptography

Information security and cryptography deals with secure communication in an insecure environment. In research, the information security and cryptography chair focuses on the design, analysis and deployment of cryptographic algorithms and security protocols. A special focus lies on symmetric cryptography.

In teaching the students will be taught

  • how to define security requirements,
  • how to analyze whether a given system meets its security requirements or not, and
  • how to actually implement secure systems.

In particular, students should be enabled to critically analyze IT security systems.
