Shaking table tests on caisson foundations
As part of final theses, experimental and numerical investigations into caisson foundations were carried out at the Chair of Geotechnics. A short video illustrates the methodology used.
As part of several master's theses, vibrating table tests on caisson foundations were carried out at the Chair of Geotechnics at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. The laboratory tests also include the installation process using negative pressure and are primarily used to validate numgeo as a numerical simulation programme and to test metrological components.
Particularly noteworthy are the master's theses by Endegena Ayalew Zelelew entitled “Soil-structure interaction during earthquake loading: shaking table tests and numerical modelling” and by Jakob Rühlig entitled “Experimentelle und numerische Untersuchung von Suction-Caisson Gründungen unter Erdbebenbeanspruchung”, in which the experimental investigations were significantly further developed and supplemented by numerical models.
