We are pleased to announce that a new publication entitled “The resilience of entrepreneurial ecosystems: an analysis of ecosystem network structures”, authored by Martina Buratti from Bauhaus University, Weimar; and Matthias Menter from Friedrich Schiller University, Jena, has been published in Review of Managerial Science.

This study provides important evidence on how ecosystem network structures influence the resilience of entrepreneurial ecosystems during exogenous shocks, focusing on three major economic crises.
Results show that stronger network structures are associated with greater resilience in terms of employment, particularly in ecosystems dominated by small firms. In contrast, the same structures display a negative association with resilience measured by regional GDP performance, suggesting that job recovery does not necessarily translate into immediate economic growth.
