Entrepreneurship & Business Innovation: Theory and Practice
- This course encourages students from all disciplines – both bachelor's and master's students – to demonstrate their entrepreneurial talent in interdisciplinary teams. The course follows a practice-oriented approach based on the lean startup philosophy: analytical, hands-on, and solution-focused. In agile work processes, the teams develop presentable results, prototypes, or studies that map the entire innovation process – from problem definition to the creation of a viable business model. The students are supported by specialists, experienced founders, startup mentors, and coaches. The curriculum is complemented by theory and lecture blocks, boot camps, methodology and design thinking workshops, and keynote speeches. Furthermore, the course offers the opportunity to gain in-depth insights into the startup scene. This course imparts key knowledge and skills required to assess key challenges facing startups and company formations and to develop innovative strategies. Students gain in-depth insights into business model evaluation, legal and technological issues, budgeting, market analysis, and corporate finance, and improve their presentation and problem-solving skills.
