Project description
The course members of "Do you see what you don't see in the picture? have been exploring different strategies of the documentary in photography over the course of the semester.
At the beginning and along the course, different photo books were discussed. With what they learned and the contents of this course, the participants* developed their own photographic works. There was no obligatory assignment. Some works attempt a documentary gesture.
Experimenting with point, line and surface and composition were very important for other contributors. Again and again, the question arose as to the perspective from which a photo is taken. And from what motivation. How does our environment see what we have seen? And who is this environment made up of? Who looks at our photographs? With this parasitic exhibition, we are addressing an audience that has certainly been looking for something different.
