Project description

Hystera is a Greek root word meaning "uterus". Ultimately, the cause of the discomfort created by women in the political body is reduced to the nature of the female gender. If women can take place in the male-dominated society by becoming masculine, this seems to be possible only by symbolically removing the uterus (hysteria). Therefore, the efforts of anorexia* patients to break away from the female representation, which is the fantasy of the masculine imagination, causes them to hate their feminine body.


* Anorexia Nervosa; it is defined as "nervous eating disorder or loss of appetite" in the most basic sense. Apart from certain professions people who had serious traumas or sexual abuse catch this neurosis.
